Medical Secrets in Reader’s Digest
I’m sort of back from a long respite from blogging. Busy, busy, busy. I missed a lot of opportunities to blog about medical news but I had to recharge.
Anyway, I sifted through my RSS feeds and found an article in the online Reader’s Digest entitled “41 Secrets Your Doctor Would Never Share.” It’s a misleading title, I think, but the “article” is a collection of quotes from two dozen doctors told to share the truth about medical practice.
I enjoy Douglas Farrago’s quips, but my absolute favorite of the bunch is:
In many ways, doctors are held to an unrealistic standard. We are never, ever allowed to make a mistake. I don’t know anybody who can live that way.
– James Dillard, MD
Read the rest of the article and tell me what you think about it.
